Denne side introducerer til fagfeltet "Informatik" i sygeplejerskestudiet og henvender sig til studerende som har påbegyndt sygeplejestudiet i september 2001 eller senere på Sygeplejeskolen i Viborg Amt.

Sygeplejeinformatik

Siden indeholder materialer vedrørende delkurset "Informationsteknologi som redskab i sygeplejefaget" der er det grundlæggende af tre delkurser, idet det præsenterer de basale begreber og metoder i sygeplejeinformatikken. De to andre kurser er

Disse to kurser er mere anvendelsesorienteret, da der her undervises i konkrete metoder for hvordan informatik anvendes i sygeplejen.

Kurserne er placeret under diciplinen "Sygeplejeinformatik" indenfor det sygeplejevidenskabelige fagområde, som er placeret på 2. studieenhed.

Disciplinen "Sygeplejeinformatik" på 2. studieenhed er tildelt 3 ECTS point i teorien. Delkurset "Informationsteknologi som redskab i sygeplejefaget - basale begreber" er tildelt 1 ECTS point. Den kliniske undervisning til kurserne under disciplinen udgør samlet 1½ ECTS point.

Studieaktiviteten vurderes samlet under disciplinien sygeplejeinformatik.

Med udgangspunkt i undervisningen skal der i mindre grupper arbejdes med et tema, som Pervasive Healthcare eller den danske Sundheds-IT strategi, hvor disciplinen afsætter rammer for valg af hovedfokus.

Sundheds Informatik

Sundhedsinformatik er en multi-disciplinær disciplin, der studerer anvendelserne af informatik og telematik inden for sundhedsdomænet. Dette er en generel definition der omfatter en række discipliner som Medicinsk informatik, Sygeplejeinformatik, Dentalinformatik, mm.

Sygeplejeinformatik er de multidisciplinære videnskabe-lige bestræbelser på at analysere, formalisere og modellere, hvorledes sygeplejersker indsamler og styrer data, gør data til information og viden, foretager vidensbaserede og logiske beslutninger i patientplejen, og anvender denne empiriske og erfaringsbaserede viden i bestræbelserne på, at øge rammerne for og fremme kvaliteten af deres professionelle praksis. 
De videnskabelige metoder, der er centrale for Sygeplejeinformatik er rettet mod:, 1. Anvendelse af en diskurs om motiver for IT-systemer 2.
